Velocity - The UW Student Residence for Undergraduate Entrepreneurs

I was pretty amazed to see this on the bulletin board (the physical one and not the digital one, silly) the other day.

student residence for entrepreneurs!

It’s a brand new student residence dedicated for University of Waterloo students who wish to start their own businesses on campus. The poster and website don’t explain a whole lot, but here is the gist of it…

You will be living at the Minota Hagey residence with other passionate and determined entrepreneurs. Industry leaders, venture capitalists, professors and entrepreneurs will be on-hand to help you out as you build your venture. And at the end of the term, you get the opportunity to pitch your business idea to people who might be able to help.

Velocity will be starting for the Fall 2008 term (starting September 2008), so if you are on campus then, be sure to apply because I sure as hell will be!
