Web Browser Statistics - Firefox Rose from 18% to 27.3% in Only a Year

No response, Dec 13, 2007

Firefox is now the most used browser in the entire world, but of course we already knew that. What is interesting though is how quickly it became so popular. If you take a look at the Browser Statistics from W3Schools, Firefox popularity rose from 18% to 27.3% in only a year (September 2005-2006). Compare that to Internet Explorer 6’s drop from 69.8% to 55.6%. And if you haven’t heard of W3Schools, they help web developers by providing tutorials and other resources of many different web development subjects.

Top Firefox Plugins That Have Changed My Life

2 responses, Dec 12, 2007

There are a lot of Firefox plugins that add cool little features to your browser, but only a few have really changed my life and the way I use my Firefox browser. Unfortunately, there are just as many blogs on “top Firefox plugins” that don’t really do more than to showcase a bunch of popular, most-downloaded plugins.

Here is a short list of plugins that have really made a difference for me. There may be some that you have seen or not seen, but they are definite must-haves for me. Props to the creators of these plugins!

The centralizing problem with image hosts

too many image picture hosts

Hey! Where are my images now? Do you ever get the feeling the files you upload on the internet get lost sometimes?

Take for example, your pictures. A few years back, it seemed like everyone had their pictures uploaded on photobucket. These days, they’re either on flickr or facebook’s picture albums. In a few years further, who knows where you will be hosting your pictures. Worse yet, will you remember where all your pictures are? Because I won’t. Of course, this won’t be a concern to you if you are those kinds of people who spend their weekends managing and organizing your pictures online, moving them from one image host to another, but for the majority of us out there - we have no interest in wasting our time.

First Post Feels Like Being on Stage

No response, Dec 08, 2007

I guess writing your first blog entry is a bit like starting a presentation. As you step up the stage and realize how many strangers there are in the audience, your heart is pounding and your hands get a bit sweaty. You swallow the remaining saliva in your mouth to prevent any accidental mispronunciation of your first words. Then, your mouth widens and you say those first few words you have planned before even getting on stage…. That's a bit how I feel right now (minus the nervous breakdown symptoms).

I feel like I am speaking to a blank audience, an audience of strangers. An audience that may or may not be there and may or may not even care about what I have to say… Oh well, I have made my first post! And that's all there is to it.

That was easy :) easy button
